Steel Wolves of Craedia (Audible Audio Edition) G Akella Zach Villa Audible Studios Books

An excellent third installment in a great LITRPG series. The main character has remained likable and relatable while he grows in power/levels. the gaming world has remained fairly constant and understandable while the game mechanics have not faded away which I appreciate. My only complaint would be that I wish the book was a bit longer, specifically the first part of the story with his sister and friend up in the other gaming area felt like it should have been longer. I sincerely cant wait to read more of the Realm of Arkon series. I haven't been this excited about a series since the first couple Play to Live books came out.

Steel Wolves of Craedia (Audible Audio Edition) G Akella Zach Villa Audible Studios Books Reviews

This series takes a slightly different approach than most LitRPG books I have read, which to be honest is almost every major well written series since it started. I would rank this series on the same level as the Alterworld level but again it takes a different direction. This series also splits time between 2 sets of characters in completely different situations adding plenty of content and though eventually headed to a known direction, the way the characters are getting there is anything but typical.
Overall a good entertaining story, It took me several days to finish which was good because usually the other books just seems too short and not enough content. I really found the characters interesting with lots of character interactions between them and it was well written. I don't think the translations was a problem like other Russian translated books because it was translated really well and you wouldn't know it was written in Russian. So good job on book 3 and I'd buy the next one when it comes out.
Has anybody heard anything on book 4 yet? the way this one ended is killing me here. I can't even find a way to contact him to ask about a possible ETA. Throw me a friggin bone here. .... NO! Thor don't you be throwing your big az hammer this way! WTF! jerk! *WHAM!* Really! who throw a shoe? A boot? Naw, they look like high heels to me man, and you are wearing a skirt. EEP! ok, gotta run now, read the book its awesome, preferably buying books 1 through 3, take care all.
Book starts with the story of Max, but compared to the other two books it is short. Krian is now a clan leader in a war with an army of undead, and followers of the twice cursed gods. Things are relatively easy for Krian, and he gets showered with accolades and gifts. Things seem to be set up for an epic battle or two and even Krian and his friends are worried about the relative ease of the conflict. Now if only Krian would feel less self pity...

Good third part, no cliff-hangers. A thing or two has become clear on what is going on and what Krian needs to do which is good. I am no fan of needing a dozen books to tell a complete story.
I love it when a book, series, and author continues to mature and improve, becoming more complex and detailed. Upon completion of this book, I immediately began re-reading, perhaps the highest complement I could give to any author.

Krian and Max, primary & alternate MC's, continue their respective journeys and quests, Max beginning with the completion of a quest mentioned in the previous book, then Krian's journey through the remainder of the book. While reading, I had expected another "Max episode" near the book's end, but a bit of foreshadowing let me know that the next book will (probably) begin with a larger "Max episode", as he (and group) appear to be headed towards "major quest" territory.

While Max's story was fairly straight forward, Krian's story began to get much more complex fairly quickly, with a lot more detail of the "world", history, future challenges, etc thrown in for good measure. It's difficult to see how this series could be anything less than 6 books (more likely 10+) even if extremely compressed, especially if the stories continue to expand as they have.

Very much "recommended reading", with complements to the translator (though "Elven Presley" was a mystery!). Translation isn't merely exchanging words, and Mark has done extremely well in passing the context from Russian to English.
In-so-far as the sword? Still searching...
Overall, I enjoy the series by G. Akella. In fact, I just made note that the fourth book in the series is soon to be released. Overall was concerned as the next book seems to be a very short addition to the series, but will have to wait and see!

For this book in the series, I was somewhat torn. I like the work very much, but I feel that this was in many ways due to having been pulled into the series with book 1 and 2. My concern, which honestly began to develop towards the end of book two, and unfortunately seemed to blossom in book 3 is that there is a change in how the story is presented.

At first, I considered that it read almost like the author was going through a checklist of inserting content, but then I realized that would be slightly off in describing the book. It is fairly well written with only minor translation issues, and the content is described and written well. What I finally came to realize is that the reader jumps from one crisis or climax to the next. I am afraid that the author is focused so heavily on presenting powerful game changing -pardon the pun- scenes one after the other, that it not only begins to dull the readers senses to the next scene, but also loses important developmental elements.

I still love the series, and will continue reading, but would encourage the author to slow down a bit, and spread out the suspense, conflicts, and climaxes to further develop the work.
