Great book about WW2 abiation and growth of a young man into seasoned veteran
I purchased this as a gift. I have read this book and was hard to put down.
This review is by Robert H. Lease. Janice Lease is my wife and does not know Sanford L. Graves. Eventhough her name appears in this review.
There are few people who touch our lives in ways that can't be expressed easily.
Sanford L. (Doc) Graves was my first and greatest hero. As an elementary school kid Doc came to the college where my dad was employed.
I knew Doc for only three years, and he treted me like a little brother. When we moved away from that school I was 13. It has taken me 62 years to make contact again, and being able to read the personal, real life story of my hero was an unbelievable experience.
I hope I will be able to have Doc sign his book in person in the near future.
Anyone who reads this book will better understand the reason the United States is the greatest country on earth, and the greatest generation made it that way for the rest of us.
Doc was a praying pilot, and remains so to this day.
I bought three of these books and gave two away to my elementary school mates who knew and were touoched by Doc too.
