Alrighty... here we go. I would first like to say that I read this book despite the pretty rough reviews on amazon. I couldn't really tell if this would a hit or a miss because some loved it.. and some hated based on the subject matter with all that being said and after paying $4.80 cents.. here is my review. The subject matter didn't bother me... when the book first started we are thrown head first into Noelle's and James arrangement. Actually we don't really know much about the setup or much of anything at all. All we know is what we are currently reading.. which is James is being a little forceful yet Noelle is turned on even though she is not 100% on board with whatever he was telling her to do in the beginning ( I of course know what he was demanding...
however I do not want to spoil the book for anyone who might want to read it regardless of the reviews) now I read alot of reviews that made me nervous stating that Noelle was forced... Now I didn't feel that way completely ... now now let me explain. Do I feel that James was a dick... yes completely.. was he controlling... absolutely... Did I agree with his actions... not at all. With that being said.. do I feel that Noelle really dislike or felt forced completely... no I am sorry to say that I don't... I didn't take that away from the situation in the beginning.
Now the reason I disliked the book or I should say that the book wasn't for me was because I was actually pretty bored reading it... Noelle was so usable that it got to the point where I was like... okay doormat how much more of this will you take... and by the time she grew a pair of balls I was completely over her and James all at the same damn time.
Truly the only person that I actually ended up liking was Paul... and that speaks volumes when you see Paul's role in the book.
Sign... This book did have some heavy subject matter but I guess the way that it was presented... I really just couldn't get into it at all... I would have did a DNF at about 50% but that would be wasting almost 5 dollars so I pushed through anyways.
So overall this wasn't for me.

Whatever He Wants edition by Eve Vaughn Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The book had 4293 locations on my kindle. The book was about a 23 year old black woman, named Noelle and a 39 year old white man, named James. James met Noelle at the gym, had one date and immediately asked her to be his mistress. He would expect her to be at his beck and call 24 hours a day. Noelle thought about the proposition for all of a minute and accepted, hoping for more. Noelle was a broken, needy, loving, doormat with deep emotional scars. James was a mean, selfish wealthy billionaire with deep emotional scars. The book contained some great, hot, sex and oral sex scenes, which I liked. I liked the older man, younger woman, relationship. I could almost tolerate, the pages and pages of James treating Noelle like crap and her just accepting it. The pages and pages in between of them attempting to get back together and the misunderstandings, got on my last nerve. The book just lasted longer, than necessary to tell the story, several pages just seemed to be added for no reason. I have enjoyed a few Eve Vaughn book, but this is not one of them. This was a 2 for me.
***WARNING SPOILER ALERT***
Noelle was treated like crap for most of the book. Her mother died when she was eight and she was taken in by a vicious aunt who treated her as if she were sub-human. Her cousin Simone always had her back even suffering backlash from her mother. In one of Noelle's down moments, which occur more often than not, she let an art professor's criticism drive her out of school. It was at that weak moment that she met James at a gym; she's immediately captivated and so is he.
I really don't understand Noelle's attraction to James because he wasn't likeable. He's attracted to her innocence and makes her an indecent proposal to become his mistress. I thought he treated her more like a sex toy, because most men would have more feeling for a one-night stand than James had for Noelle. I didn't understand why Noelle was so enamored with James; he wasn't seductive or charming, just very cruel. So James treats Noelle like dog crap for a year she's not allowed to have visitors, she's not allowed to out unless it's to shop, she's supposed to sit there in her luxury apartment and wait for him to show up. Finally, James went too far, and Noelle finally got the courage to leave him.
James sees the error of his ways and he realizes that he loves Noelle, at the 71% Noelle finally tells James to go to hell. Eventually she forgives him and she takes him back. My problem with this story is the ending; there is no way in the world she should have taken him back. James had no redeeming qualities, he was selfish and all about himself.
This is a good story; however, I will never read it again. The reason I could never read this story again because there are no funny, sexy, or loveable moments that I want to re-read. Noelle finally finds her place in the world when she opens the bakery with her partner Paul, but she didn't grow enough as a person to realize that James isn't a good man and not worthy of her. I'm sure others will disagree, but I would have liked the story better if she had ended up with Paul, James's ex-assistant. Paul however, falls for Simone instead.
